Looking at this photograph, I can see that this piece is definitely the more simpler ones out of your entire body of work. Although I enjoy your more complex pieces that provided the viewer more details and colors to indulge in, there a few things I like about this particular piece and an aspect or two could be placed into consideration to strengthen similar pieces like this one in the future.

The first thing I like about this piece is that your body is the same color as the background. This gives her head and hands a somewhat "floating" quality that intrigues the audience even though we know she is wearing a black colored garment. I also like the simplicity of the lighting. This kind of lighting really enhances the natural beauty of the model and allows the viewer to feel the authenticity of the photograph.

One thing I could like to mention that could possibly enhance the piece is to place the model slightly more the left of the photograph so it would be more asymmetrical in terms of composition. This will make the piece slightly more dramatic.

Conclusively, the audience may appreciate this beautiful piece in terms of simplicity and genuineness.

Although I am in no way a professional photographer, I feel that my artistic knowledge can help critique this piece:

From what I can witness, this piece renders a simple and elegant portrait of the female model, shrouded by the darkness of her own dress and the background. Although it really pops the idea of a 'portrait', there seems to be no true elements of your usual photographs: a touch of Zemotion, if you will.

However the technique seems to be there: crisp edges, good focus, and fairly interesting framing. What is the message you intend to give? That is debatable, however the bigger question is can the model do more? Can you angle the photograph in a way that it does not resemble a simple awkward Elementary-School picture? I am not sure myself, as there is probably an infinite amount of possibilities.

In conclusion, this piece is truly a "Portrait". Beautiful, elegant, and crisp to the eyes. The dark and unsaturated colours bring some attention from afar; is she hiding from the darkness? Protecting herself? Is she a character of the dark?

I, Ronover, am pleased to witness this beautiful photograph.

Keep on going!
