From the same set as the promo image of the exhibition. This image dates back to 2007, from an attempted contribution to Sonny Liew's Liquid City anthology which I never felt apt for.
I went back to these photographs many times, but never able to find the right way to process them that belonged or felt right.
And then just one day, it happened. It surprises me how one can look at older works so radically differently. For so long I'd never been able to see this set of images in these colours.
Arissa (~Kagetsuki) was the first person I had modelling for my pictures. A lot of our shoots had just always been produced with only the two of us and no others on set.
There's a certain sort of understanding and intensity in the way we can bond due to our experiences when working together, that makes her both a muse and lovely friend of so many years.
the first time I came across the this photo I held my breath. It's really beautiful, and her eyes...you captured something that no words could ever describe..
This is so lovely! I can't believe I didn't see this one before! So it's a good thing I noticed the third one. These are just so beautiful and some of the most gorgeous shots I've ever seen. You are truly an amazing photographer.~
