Song to The Siren IV by zemotion Song to The Siren IV by zemotion, Aug 2012

I got to collaborate with *harlequinromantique! Omg omg she was sooooo nice and sent me so much awesome jewelry I could use for the shoot and they were all so pretty *fangirl gush*

Been a long time since I used sand in the studio! We had about 500-600kg of it, setup and teardown was such a pain but so worth it for the concept I think. Thank you SingaporeBrides for the support~!

I absolute love this photo!
The title says "Song to the Siren" but I get more of an emotion that she is singing for us. Her eyes looks at us just like we are standing in from of her.
The pose is simple, the dress looks simple and are gorgeous. The jewelers are making a small touch and that's enough for me. If I was a man I would have fallen for this sirens bewitching beauty and charm.
And it really looks like she is under the sea to me. :)
The only thing I would want to change is that her hair is melting in to the background a little bit to much for my taste.
What do you think?

i've seen this girl before maybe in a dream or in my imagination. nope not even in my wildess imagination could i have come up with a girl of her emmence beauty an arrow has struck home and pulled me in to admire what slips through my fingers like water. its a mirrage or a dream cause the closer i get to the image it dissapears and forms again in the disstance taunting me calling me coaxing me until i collapse from pure exaltion and dying with anticipation and my will decays and turns to dust and blows away with the wind .keep them comming i wait in anticipation for your next set of beautiful creations. :)

I love the simplicity of this one and the logs that sort of frame the woman from behind. The black and white colour scheme is beautiful and ethereal.

I must apologize for not mentioning anything for your other Siren photos, I have nothing else really to say other than what's already been said.

In the words of a great person...Beautiful. Haunting. Majestic. Inspirational.

As you've requested critique, I'll give more than a simple comment. There are things I like about this piece, and things that, just do nothing for me (though I really adore the other shots you've shown from this shoot). In this one the costuming and make-up are lovely, and I really like the sad/vulnerable look on the face of the model. But I find the pose to be boring. There is something to be said for simplicity at times, but for me, at least, the post here crossed the line between simple and pretty into something I'll probably forget. It doesn't look like she's standing there waiting for something, which would add dimension to the piece, she's just there. No mystery, not interest, nothing to be engaged about. The lighting also hits the model's face in such a way that it makes her look more ill than anything else. It detracts the look on the model's face, which is lovely.

Overall, not a bad piece, but it's nothing stand out either. I've been following your work for years now, and you've posted some shots that have put my jaw to the floor, this is not one of them.

I disagree, this one caught my attention and I haven't looked at the rest of her work it just showed up at the bottom of my DA page. I was captured by the simpleness (sp) of the pose

I think it's a look of anticipation or I don't know maybe mystery. when you see a woman standing alone looking like that you wonder is she waiting for someone or what is going on inside her head?

it makes you take a look at her and in this case she looks very approachable, I know some people like to have some action in their poses but sometimes a simple pose is enough and in this's enough

but that's just my opinion

I agree, simplicity is beautiful. And this is why I enjoy art in all its forms. This piece did nothing for me, but you loved it. Truth to that saying that it's different strokes for different folks ^^
