Another year older.

Journal Entry: Sat May 3, 2008, 10:36 AM

The year of being 19 passed quickly, and I wish I'd had more time with it. There were the usual tears and pain, maybe a little lesser than years before. It had been fruitful, I survived.

For half of it I struggled to get better, and the other half was being swept into working life full time before I could stop it from happening. I lived alone in Japan for one and a half months, for living.

I made more important decisions for my life that people groaned and disagreed with, thank you for pushing the blame onto my mum, but sorry to let you know it only made us stronger.

I withdrew from air rifle and schooling, and air rifle had meant so much to me I never imagined the day I leave would be before 25 or 30. But this much focus and devotion I felt I needed and decided to give to my photography. No regrets.

Still, so much insecurities, uncertainties. But I'm trying.

Such a year was being 19.

Did I mention how much it means to me to see all your comments?

Please, accept my utmost sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart, and continue to give me your guidance
in this year as I turn 20.

*edit* Well, I was working on my birthday. As I still am now. Thank you so much for all your well wishings. <3

Photography + 2D Art Challenge!

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 29, 2008, 8:43 AM

I've been thinking for a long time to do something fun and enriching that'd involve the dA community, I wanted to find a way to thank dA for how this place has nurtured my growth, along came :iconnjoo: suggesting holding weekly challenges. With little persuasion, it's going to happen and we're putting in cash prize~!

The Challenge

Starting in approximately June (stay tuned!)
Together with *nJoo, we are planning to host a weekly 2D art and photography challenge!
Bi-weekly for 2D and bi-weekly for photography in alternating weeks, you will have about one and a half week for turn around each time.

Prize: $50 cash prize to each challenge's winner (paypal only, or something of the same value or not exceeding, for those without paypal).

The challenges for Photography and 2D Art will be held separately, but we will have a Points/Ranking System for counting your participation in both to collect credits. ^_^ That's still needing ironing out, we're thinking of holding a lucky draw every month as a consolation prize for your participation and support, and for that you will use the participation points credits to join. XD Throw in any ideas you may have!

What you can do

The details are still being figured out, but here's how you guys can help! Please give us your opinions!

1) Should there're be a 2nd prize? (thought of dividing into $40 and $10, but $10 seems very pointless)

2) What category would you like to see for 2D? *nJoo was thinking of involving mainly concept, character, creature, etc. (other category would pop in here and there)

3) What suggestions do you have for the photography contest? I have some things in mind, whether by specific topics or throwing it wide open, but I'd love to hear what you think.

4) Because the number of options to input in the journal poll is limited, in what way do you suggest for the voting to be fair and relatively easy? A judging panel? I was thinking of posting the entries in my journal and have public voting on the #.

5) Contest title! Something catchy? :D

6) Another way you can help. Spread the news! Link over to ours and get others to participate too~ (well just contributing ideas for now hehe). Hopefully we can make it into a long running and fun contest! (currently we are aiming to go on for 4 months first?)

Please feel free to add any other points if you want to raise any.

This entry has nothing to do with competition rules, we already prepared another official journal entry for that.

For specific 2D Art Challenge feedbacks please leave it in njoo's Journal entry.

Any prize donation would always help too. ;)

I really hope that hope this will help to both let everyone learn and inspire each other, and give unknown artists and photographers more exposure~ :glomp:

As for myself, I have more or less recovered. But due to the overload of work I am like a walking zombie right now, to the point when I woke to a call this afternoon I thought I was late for my photoshoot happening tomorrow morning. I was in such a panic I didn't know whether to jump off my balcony or simply avoid picking up the call and find myself an accident to meet (i thought i slept through the night). ToT

Testing. Need a little help~

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 25, 2008, 9:25 AM

Testing new journal CSS~ I am not about to spend 2 hours editing it, so I'm not going to change the colors, or even the header picture (as of now). :XD:

Help

Does anyone here know IP lawyers in Germany? Or know of any, or directories of ones to recommend? Or if you are one? Please let me know. This is really important... I'm seeking advice and need help on some matters. I really really need help on some cases.

Just a little update

I'd been shooting everyday, it's kind of like, madness. I'd met so many models with attitude problems this week it's record-breaking, really. Perhaps I'm spoiled by all the kind people I'd been working with in Tokyo. Perhaps my luck's just down. Haha.

Sorry I haven't been around, if I had the time I'd really like to sleep and see a doctor.

It's been a tough week, I've to shoot even though I'm terribly sick right now, the infringements aren't helping me to feel any better. At the rate this is going, I'm probably going to be working all day even on my birthday. All memories of Tokyo seem to be so faraway now... except for the photos that are waiting for me to retouch.

So please share with me, just some tiny bits of happiness or gentle gestures you've experienced or witnessed this week, and hopefully it will brighten someone else's day, just as I'm sure it will do for me to know. :)

Tralallaa~

Oh I forgot to mention, the CSS is stolen from :iconnjoo:.

Journal twinage ftw~!!!

Just to clear up.

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 18, 2008, 7:41 PM

Since I can't seem to address the case without being misunderstood, I will explain it in simple text.

If you are trolling =GunnerRomantic for being jealous and wanting 10,000 pageviews in a day because of =alexiuss, feel free to unwatch me now. Because I share her sentiments on integrities of artists, regardless of whether they are popular or not.

I do not know gunnerromantic personally but I'll stand up for honesty.

I'll defend the one who stood up for honesty even if it means giving Mr-I-am-popular an excuse to name-call me.

Because it seems like the one in the wrong can only send his army to attack the one who's right, in order to make himself feel better.

Regrettably speaking, I'm not interested in fancy journal wars, so I won't respond to spiffy insults even if you must write them. This is just to lighten her pain because I empathize.

PS: You're not obliged to read my journals, do not complain about my updates as if I forced you. And if you don't understand, it's ok too, it's not supposed to be relevant to 100% of my watchers 100% of the time. :)

I give up.

/edit: oh dA, why can't you understand a thing I say? I'll explain myself again in plain, simple words./

Anyway, a little update I'd initially meant this entry for. I am back in Singapore. My trip to Tokyo had been wonderful and shoots had been successful~ It's going to take a while for me to start posting the pictures from Tokyo because I have to work these coming days (because I spent a lot in Japan).

I'd like to express my greatest gratitude to ~cwfineart for his assistance and *shern for offering me to stay at IFS (which was awesome, btw), I'd also like to thank every one of you so so much for your kindness, help and support, it wouldn't have been possible otherwise. The only thing I can do is by sharing the results and I hope you will like them.
